Developing: Car and foot pursuit ends in two arrests in Barbour County

BELINGTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia State Police and other assisting law enforcement agencies captured two people Thursday, at least one of whom is wanted on drug charges in Marion County.

The men led law enforcement on a low-speed chase through Belington before noon, Thursday. At least one of them was believed to be armed and dangerous.

The vehicle pursuit ended shortly after 11:30 a.m. when the two suspects abandoned their vehicle approximately 2.5 miles outside of Belington, near a resevoir.

The first suspect was captured after a short foot pursuit.

The second suspect ran into an abandoned brick building, but police were unable to locate him after searcing the premises.

According to scanner traffic, high winds made it difficult to determine where the second suspect went.

After further search, police arrested him nearby.

This is a developing story.
