The incident occurred around 6:30 at the 25 mile marker just south of the Potomac River.

Berkeley County firefighter Tommy Necomb said there were no fatalities but there were people trapped in their vehicles.
“The one vehicle that had five people trapped in it crossed the median from the north bound side to the southbound die and hit a tractor and trailer,” Newcomb told MetroNews affiliate WEPM Radio in Martinsburg.
Traffic was moving again just before 9:30 a.m. The investigation is ongoing.
