Harrison County man enters plea to killing of his brother

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A Harrison County man has entered a plea agreement tied to a 2016 killing of his brother.

Jonas Copass of Lost Creek entered the plea to a charge of involuntary manslaughter Friday in Harrison County Circuit Court. He was originally charged with first degree murder in the death of Theodore Harper, 24.

Prosecutors say Harper was stabbed to death with a sword in August 2016.

Copass told Judge Thomas Bedell he had been drinking heavily on the night of the incident.

Sentencing is set for March 30.
