Wheeling Park, George Washington win swimming titles

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Wheeling Park and George Washington both captured state swimming championships on Friday.

Wheeling Park won the girls’ team title, finishing with 144 points. Fairmont Senior was second with 142 points, while George Washington finished third at 132 points. The win for Wheeling Park snapped a streak of four straight girls championships for George Washington.

It was George Washington, though, taking the boys’ championship, the school’s sixth title in the last seven years. The Patriots finished with 166 points, while Parkersburg finished second with 125 points and Parkersburg South was third with 120 points.
