Child dies in UTV rollover accident

MONTCALM, W.Va. — A 10-year old boy is dead after a fatal accident involving a utility task vehicle (UTV).  The crash happened around 6:45 Thursday evening on private property near Montcalm.

Investigators say the boy, whose name was not released, was crushed by the machine in a rollover accident.  When deputies arrived a person trained in CPR was working with the child and a deputy took over for them until emergency crews arrived.   The boy was transported to Bluefield Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The UTV apparently flipped in the accident.  The boy was ejected and the machine landed on top of him.
