UPDATE: AT&T experiencing outage affecting 911 calls

UPDATE (11:22 p.m.) — According to AT&T, the issue has been resolved.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — AT&T customers are experiencing an outage across West Virginia Wednesday, preventing those customers from calling 911.

A spokesman for AT&T said customers nationwide are experiencing similar problems, and the company is working on fixing the issue. It is not clear how many states are affected.

— Hampshire County: 304-822-6000
— Mason County: 304-875-9911
— Kanawha County: 304-348-8111 or 304-357-0191
— Wyoming County: 304-732-6953

The West Virginia Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management said it is monitoring the situation. A restoration time is not known.
