State Police arrest three men for separate acts involving children

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia State Police have made three arrests this week of people accused of inappropriate acts involving children, according to a statement released Thursday.

Ronnie Fazzini, 26, of Clarksburg, has been charged three counts of sexual abuse by a person in position of trust to a child. Fazzini is accused of sending sexual letters to children while serving as an employee at a Harrison County Residential Treatment Facility for troubled and special needs youth.

Fazzini was arraigned in Harrison County Magistrate Court, and has posted a $10,000 bail.

Derrick Berry, 40, of Charleston Town, was arrested Thursday on two counts of first degree sexual assault and two counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or person in trust.

Berry allegedly sexually assaulted two juveniles at sleepovers in Berkley County. The warrants were served to Berry while he was incarcerated at the Eastern Regional Jail.

Barry Callahan, 32, of Alkol, was also arrested Thursday. Callahan is charged with possessing child pornography; solicitation of a minor; displaying obscene material to a minor with the intent to seduce; and use of a minor in production of obscene material.

The arrest came after an investigation into sexually explicitly online chats involving Callahan and a juvenile victim. According to a statement from State Police, sexually explicit photographs and videos were shared via Facebook Messenger.

Callahan is at the Western Regional Jail.

Troopers with the Crimes Against Children Unit arrested each of the three. Special Agent Brian Morris of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security assisted in the arrest of Callahan.
