Head-on collision leaves one dead in Kanawha County

ELKVIEW, W.Va. — A Sunday night accident on a rural road in Kanawha County left one dead and one hospitalized.

Kanawha County Sheriff’s Deputies say the crash happened about 9 p.m. in the 4700 block of Frame Road near Elkview.  Dead is James Kidd, 46, of Elkview, W.Va.   Deputies say Kidd’s vehicle was struck head on by an oncoming car which crossed the center line.

The driver of the first car, Kevin Statts, 54, of South Charleston, W.Va. was transported to CAMC General.  His condition is not known.

An investigation into the crash continues.
