Reward offered in Taylor County arson investigation

THORNTON, W.Va. — The State Fire Marshal’s Office is offering a reward for information related to an arson investigation in Taylor County.

A fire destroyed a home along Thornton Pike in Thornton, WV, just after 2:30 a.m. on March 1, 2017.

Investigators believe the residence and outbuildings were subject to a break-in before the fire, resulting in the theft of a “large amount of personal property.”

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those involved.
