Tips lead to arrest of Fayette County man on multiple drug charges

OAK HILL, W.Va. — The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and Central West Virginia Drug Task Force have arrested an Oak Hill native following a seizure of heroin, cocaine, marijuana, prescription pills, and affiliated drug paraphernalia.

The investigation and resulting arrest of Anthony Bell, 50, of Oak Hill, came as a result of public complaints and tips about a potential ongoing trafficking operation in Bell’s home.

“We follow up on all the information provided to us, but it sometimes takes a little while,” Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley said. “Our drug Task Force covers two counties and our resrources are often stretched thin, but we do follow up on all tips and complaints.”

Police also seized approximately $1,500 in cash from Bell’s home.

Bell, who faces four felony charges, is in Southern Regional Jail.
