3 Spring Valley High School students charged in assault

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Three Spring Valley High School students have been charged in connection to the assault of another student, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.

The incident happened Thursday morning at the school.

One student is being charged with assault, battery and conspiracy for physically abusing the victim. Officers said the victim did not defend himself.

The two other juveniles have been charged with conspiracy. One of those students filmed the incident.

The sheriff’s department said it was notified of the assualt Thursday around 8:45 a.m.

Wayne Coutny Sheriff Rick Thompson and an investigator spoke Friday with the victim, who has been seen by medical personnel.

The filed charges are misdemeanors, and the students will be charged as juveniles.
