WACO, Texas — BJ Myers struck out six over eight innings and West Virginia’s 4-5-6 hitters collected seven hits during a 7-1 win over No. 10 Baylor in Friday night’s Big 12 opener.

Baylor starter Nick Lewis (3-1) lasted only four innings, giving up five runs on 10 hits and three walks with five strikeouts.

Catcher Ivan Gonzales added a two-run double in the top of the ninth for WVU before reliever Jackson Sigman finished off the Bears with a scoreless bottom half.

Baylor fell to 15-3, 0-1.
