Fire in Tucker County leaves one dead

PARSONS, W.Va. — A Monday night fire in Tucker County leaves one dead.

The Tucker County Sheriff’s Department responded to the blaze at River Bend Estates in Parsons.

Deputies say the home was fully engulfed in flames when volunteer fire crews arrived about 11:40 p.m.  The fire was too intense for fire fighters to get inside to search for a victim.  The body was discovered after the blaze was out.  Authorities have not indicated the age or identity of the victim.

The state Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a cause for the fire.
