Wheeling police investigating Chase Bank robbery

WOODSDALE, W.Va. – The Wheeling Police Department is investigating a robbery that happened Tuesday at the Chase Bank.

The incident happened around 11:30 a.m.

According to officers, the suspect is a black man. He is around 5 foot 10 inches tall, and was last seen wearing a hat, glasses, a black jacket with patches on the sleeves and brown pants. Authorities also described him as thin.

No one was injured in the robbery, and there is no evidence of a weapon being used. According to authorities, the robber handed the clerk a note stating to put the money in a bag.

The suspect left on foot, and later entered a four-door silver car. Authorities said the car could be a Toyota or Hyundai. The vehicle left traveling westbound on U.S. Route 40.

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI is helping Wheeling police in its investigation.
