Police say Detroit men “executed” in Fairmont

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — The identities of two men killed in a Fairmont apartment have been released.

According to Police Chief Steve Shine, the bodies were found inside a Satterfield Street apartment approximately 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 19.

Jemiez Weathersby, 31, and Earnest Cole, Jr., 21, of Detroit, Michigan were executed multiple gunshots to the head.

“The deaths are apparent homicides,” Shine said shortly after the investigation began. “There was also evident manufacturing of drugs taking place inside of the residence.”

Police had advised the incident was a targeted crime and they “do not believe the suspect(s) to be local.”

In Wednesday’s release, Shine wrote, “Again, involvement with/around criminal activity has a positive correlation with violent victimization – removing that trade from your lifestyle can only benefit your well-being.”

If you have information relating to these homicides or suspicious activity in the area of Satterfield St. on 3-19-2017, please contact the Fairmont Police Department at 304-366-4200.
