Fayette County woman sentenced for July 2015 crash

BECKLEY, W.Va. — A Fayette County woman was sentenced Thursday to 14 to 55 years in prison for a July 2015 crash that injured six people.

Debra Dillon, of Oak Hill, led West Virginia State Police on a chase on the West Virginia Turnpike. Dillon turned off the road and ran a traffic light near Crossroads Mall, crashing into two vehicles.

She was indicted on 20 counts in November 2015, and pleaded guilty to eight of the counts. Those include fleeing from police causing serious bodily injury; driving on a revoked license because of a DUI third offense; four counts of driving under the influence of alcohol causing serious bodily injury and two counts of driving under the influence causing bodily injury.

Out of the six people injured in the crash, four of those were children between the ages of 7 and 14.

Dillon will also be responsible for paying for the medical bills of the victims.
