Graduate transfer receiver picks Sooners over WVU

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Former Kentucky receiver Jeff Badet announced Tuesday he’ll spend his graduate transfer season at Oklahoma, culminating a two-month courtship that boiled down to the Sooners and West Virginia.

The 6-foot Orlando native caught 82 passes for 1,385 yards and seven touchdowns during three seasons at Kentucky. In 2016 his 31 receptions led the SEC at 21.6 yards per catch.

After opting to leave the run-oriented Wildcats offense, Badet drew interest from several Power Five programs. He visited Morgantown in February before taking a March trip to Norman, where both teams are seeking to replace large chunks of their receiving production from last season.

West Virginia visits Oklahoma for the regular-season finale next season on Nov. 25.
