HS baseball gallery: Robert C. Byrd outlasts South Harrison

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Robert C. Byrd defeated South Harrison 13-8 on Wednesday evening, improving to 2-1 on the young baseball season.

RCB led 5-1 after the first inning and later broke open a 5-5 tie with five more runs in the third. Gino Messenger collected three RBIs in the win, going 2-for-4 from the plate.

Brock Herrod scored three runs for South Harrison (2-3) in the loss, going 2-for-4 on the night as well. Freshman Landon McFadden also finished 3-for-3 with an RBI for the Hawks.
