RICHWOOD, W.Va. — State Police have arrested a Nicholas County man on first degree murder charges after discovering the body of a missing woman in his refrigerator.
Troopers were conducting a search on the property of David Allen Geier, 65, of Richwood, Thursday with permission from Geier when they made the discovery. They were searching for leads on the whereabouts of 49-year-old Teresa Gwinn, a woman who had been reported missing a few weeks prior. Geier’s home was Gwinn’s last known residence.
Investigators said Geier admitted to strangling Gwinn after the discovery. Gwinn and Geier had what was described by State Police as an “on again, off again” relationship.
Geier is being held without bond in Central Regional Jail.
