Less than one week from trial, traffic stop leads to bond revocation of Clarksburg beating death suspect

CLARKSBURG, W. Va. — A Harrison County woman indicted in the 2015 beating death of a Clarksburg man is in North Central Regional Jail for violating the terms of her bond agreement.

Kelsi Riddle, 21, of Clarksburg, was pulled over by the Mountaineer Highway Interdiction Team South. The results of that traffic stop ended with her bond revocation.

According to the Clarksburg Exponent-Telegram, Riddle reportedly was in possession of drug paraphernalia at the time of the traffic stop. She later failed a drug screening conducted by her probation officer.

Riddle is one of three people accused in the beating death of 29-year-old Dustin Baldwin in August 2015. Terrance Ray Hilliard, 23, formerly of Clarksburg, is awaiting a potential prison sentence of up to 45 years after pleading to felony charges of first degree robbery and conspiracy. He’ll be sentenced in May.

His cousin, 22-year-old Zachary Hilliard, pleaded guilty to two felony charges last year. Judge Thomas A. Bedell sentenced the younger Hilliard to a maximum of 37 years in prison.

Baldwin was left on the porch of his grandmother’s Clarksburg home. He died in September 2015 as a result of his injuries.

Riddle is set to appear in court for a pretrial hearing on Friday. Jury selection is expected to begin Monday, April 24.
