Shots fired near Charleston school, police say

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — At least 30 shots were fired Wednesday near a school in Charleston’s West Side neighborhood, according to the Charleston Police Department.

The shooting happened near Park Avenue and Main Street. No injuries have been reported.

Kanawha County Schools said buses are delayed because of a precautionary lockdown at Mary C. Snow Elementary.

The shooting is being investigated.
