Suddenlink to close Parkersburg call center

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — Suddenlink plans to close its call center in Parkersburg later this year, eliminating 167 jobs, company officials announced Wednesday.

Suddenlink, which is now owned by Altice USA, has operated the call center, located near the intersection of Interstate 77 and U.S. Route 50 for several years. No official closure date was announced.

An Altice USA spokesperson told the Parkersburg News-Sentinel the company has made investments in technology that have helped contribute to a 20 percent decline in call volume during the past year.

Some of the workers may have an opportunity to get other jobs within the company.

The Altice USA spokesperson told the paper the company is committed to West Virginia.
