New director named at Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — The Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department has hired a new executive director.

Eric Walker

Eric Walker was named to the job by the Mid-Ohio Valley Board of Health on Friday. He will oversee the six county regional health department beginning May 1.

Walker currently serves as the financial services director at the department. He’s been in that role since Feb. 2016.

For the last 10 years he has worked in management teams within defense contracting and regional public health industries, according to a news release.

“I am honored to be chosen as the Executive Director of the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department. It is a privilege to be able to work with staff so devoted to public health,” Walker said in a statement.

Walker graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho with degrees in business management, with an emphasis in finance, and computer information systems.

He currently resides in Parkersburg with his wife and two children.
