Tractor-trailer crash causes West Virginia Turnpike traffic delay

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. — A tractor-trailer crash shut down the West Virginia Turnpike Friday afternoon near the Chelyan toll plaza.

The wreck happened around 1 p.m. near the Chelyan toll plaza.

The truck was traveling south when it went through the toll gate, striking a wall and bursting into flames.

Both northbound and southbound lanes were closed after the wreck.

All northbound and one southbound lanes reopened around 3:30 p.m.
