Search for elderly man continues in Tucker County

CANAAN VALLEY, W.Va. — Crews in Tucker County searched for an elderly man  Tuesday who went missing earlier this week.

Raymond Epling disappeared Sunday from a home on Mirror Lake Drive in Canaan Valley. He has Alzheimer’s Disease.

Raymond Eugene Epling, 75, has been missing since early Sunday morning.

According to a statement from the Canaan Valley Volunteer Fire Department, crews from multiple communities and states participated in the search. Local businesses provided food and shelter for those involved in the search.

Epling currently lives in Lewisburg.

“It is possible that Mr. Epling was picked up by a well-intentioned passer-by and is trying to make his way to home,” the statement said.

Epling was last seen wearing jeans, a long-sleeved denim jacket with a West Virginia University emblem on the left pocket and white tennis shoes. He is 5 foot 10 inches tall.
