WHEELING, W.Va. — Repairs to Wheeling Island Stadium, host of the West Virginia high school football Super Six, will take five months for completion and cost approximately $700,000, according to the Wheeling Intelligencer.
Ohio County school officials said the stadium should be open for use by mid-September. The repairs are needed to fix two panels that fell from the top of the seating section on the stadium’s west side.
Wheeling Island has hosted the Super Six high school football state championship games in December since 1994.
