MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia University announced on Tuesday it will be adding a new, HD video board this summer in the north end zone at Milan Puskar Stadium, completing the project in time for the 2017 season.
The new board will work in conjunction with the current south end zone video board which was installed in 2008, providing additional live action, replays, statisticss, scores, in-game entertainment and advertisements.
The new high definition video board will be 37.2 feet high by 97.2 feet long for a total of 3,616 square feet – it will sit atop Touchdown Terrace. The square footage dwarfs the current board, which is 23.6 feet high by 85 feet long for a total of 2,006 square feet.
“Along with the renovated stadium and WVU Coliseum concourses, this project is another way for us to enhance the fan experience at our athletic venues,” WVU Director of Athletics Shane Lyons said in a statement. “Live video and replays now will be available to virtually every seat in the stadium.
“One of my main objectives from my first day on the job two years ago was to improve our athletic facilities for our student-athletes and fans,” he continued. “This addition not only will look great at the stadium, but will add another dimension to our game day entertainment.”
