St. Marys QB Billeter accepts preferred walk-on spot with WVU

ST. MARYS, W.Va. — St. Marys quarterback Will Billeter accepted a preferred walk-on opportunity with West Virginia.

The 6-foot-3, 170-pound standout led the Blue Devils to a 14-0 season and the Class A state championship in 2016.

Billeter completed 67 percent of his passes, throwing for 1,447 yards, 14 touchdowns and just three interceptions during his senior campaign.

Defensively he finished with 39 tackles and a team-high five interceptions for the Blue Devils.

Billeter will join his former St. Marys teammate Zach Davis, an offensive lineman who also took the preferred walk-on route with the Mountaineers a year ago.
