State police looking for Iaeger bank robbery suspect

IAEGER, W.Va. — West Virginia State Police announced Monday it is investigating a bank robbery that happened in McDowell County.

A suspect, a white man, is wanted for allegedly robbing the Pioneer Community Bank on Coal Heritage Road around noon. He was dressed in camouflage clothing. According to authorities, he walked into the bank carrying a handgun and demanded money.

According to authorities, railroad workers saw a man matching the description running toward nearby woods.

Iaeger Elementary and Sandy River Middle schools were put on lock down as a search for the suspect was conducted.

No one was hurt in the robbery. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
