MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — NFL third-round draft pick Rasul Douglas is slotted to sign a four-year deal with the Eagles worth $3.18 million, according to salary-trackers at Forbes and Spotrac.com.
While his $709,957 signing bonus is guaranteed, very little of that contract is — though Douglas would begin collecting once he makes the opening-week roster in September.
Douglas was among two West Virginia players selected in the draft, along with fifth-rounder Shelton Gibson, a junior receiver also chosen by Philadelphia.
With salaries and bonuses slotted according to the collective bargaining agreement, Gibson as the No. 166th overall pick is inline for a four-year deal worth $2,613,428. The only guaranteed money for Gibson is his signing bonus of $258,428.
The Gold & Blue Lunch Report looks at the money Gibson could have made had he stayed in school and improved his draft position for 2018. Plus we look at the contract terms awaiting undrafted free agents like center Tyler Orlosky, defensive end Noble Nwachukwu and receiver Daikiel Shorts.
