Online auction begins for Parkersburg Federal Building

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — An online auction with the goal of selling the Parkersburg Federal Building began Friday, according to information from the General Services Administration.

The minimum bid for the property is $500,000. The property includes an older two-story office building and a five-story office tower. The buildings represent more than 175,000 square feet.

Federal agencies began moving out of the facility in 2012 beginning with the U.S. Postal Service. Three remaining agencies, including the IRS, Social Security and U.S. Department of Labor are relocating to the Union Trust Building in Parkersburg, the GSA said.

Interested bidders can take a tour of the buildings May 18.

The GSA said additional information can be found here.
