BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — West Virginia State Police arrested a North Carolina woman suspected of kidnapping a 5-year-old child.
Gloria Barden was taken into custody without incident at the Sheetz store just south of Berkeley Springs at approximatley 6:30 last night.
The victim was taken to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department to await the arrival of family members from North Carolina.
The Goldsboro North Carolina Police Department notified State Police of Barden’s possible presence at the convenience store shortly before she was found there.
Captain E.D. Widmyer said police were able to track the suspect’s location through pings of her cellphone.
