3 arrested for concealing, moving body of apparent overdose victim

CRAB ORCHARD, W.Va. — Three people were charged with concealing a man’s body following a deadly drug overdose in Raleigh County.

Ashley M. Treadway, 30, of Crab Orchard, was charged with concealing and transporting the deceased body of Jason McNeely of Logan County, whose body was found May 2 in a wooded area near Cleveland School Road.

Police believe McNeely died from a drug overdose at a home on Beckett Drive in Crab Orchard, but have not yet confirmed the cause of death. A toxicology report is pending at the State Crime Lab.

Police did not disclose who owned or lived in the home. Investigators suspect that McNeely’s body was concealed in the home for an undisclosed period of time.

Additionally, Michael Justice II, 42, of Crab Orchard, is facing charges for assisting in the transportation of McNeely’s body.

Police arrested Treadway and Justice Thursday.

A third person, Rayburn Buchanan Jr., 42, of Crab Orchard, turned himself in early Friday afternoon. He is charged with concealing and transporting a deceased body and conspiracy.
