HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A Marshall University football player was arrested over the weekend on DUI-related charges.
Defensive back Rodney Allen, 23, was driving drunk in the 1400 block of 4 1/2 Alley early Sunday morning, according to a criminal complaint from Huntington police.
He allegedly damaged a vehicle in a crash while driving without a license.
Huntington police claim Allen blew a .167 into an intoxometer, which is more than twice the blood-alcohol legal limit for driving under the influence
He has played in 30 games for the Herd with five interceptions.
The Marshall athletics department released the following statement to WSAZ-TV Monday:
“We are aware of the situation and will handle it internally and appropriately.”
