CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection’s Rehabilitation Environmental Action Plan will hold eight tire collection events in June.
According to a news release, only residents with a valid West Virginia ID card for the county where the event is being held can donate tires.
The scheduled events are:
— Upshur County on June 3 at the Buckhannon Division of Highways building ( 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.);
— Harrison County on June 3 at Robert C. Byrd High School (8 a.m. to noon);
— Summers County on June 7 at Grace Street in Hinton (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.);
— Ohio County on June 10 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. between Cabela’s and Best Buy (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.);
— Boone County on June 10 at Van Elementary (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.);
— Hardy County on June 10 at H.L. Wilson Trucking in Moorefield (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.);
— Doddridge County on June 15 next to the West Union ballfield (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.); and
— McDowell County on June 21 on the corner of Kermit’s Kars near the Welch Community Hospital )8 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
Eligible residents will be allowed to dispose up to 10 tires, with only car or light truck tires being accepted. The tires must be off the rim and 16 inches or smaller. Businesses and haulers are not allowed to participate.
