Clerk charged with embezzlement from local police

RIVESVILLE, W.Va. — A police clerk in the town of Rivesville in Marion County faces charges of embezzling more than $9,000 from the town.

Deputies charged Bonnie Myers, 41, in the case after video surveillance captured images of her putting money from payment of traffic citations into her purse.

Myers told deputies she had taken about $860 to pay bills. The investigation determined there was $9,098 unaccounted for at the office.
