NY woman pleads guilty in connection to January 2015 death

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A New York woman pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree murder for killing a Tennessee man in January 2015.

Kimberly McInnis of Binghamton, New York, will be sentenced at a later date and faces up to 10 to 40 years in prison.

According to police, McInnis stabbed and ran over Howard Green of Nashville, Tennessee, in a Gamble Road mobile home park. West Virginia State Police found McInnis at a nearby residence, where she entered without permission and was seen trying to wash off blood.

Witnesses said McInnis and Green were arguing before hearing a crash, and they saw the victim underneath his company-issued truck. McInnis was standing at the driver’s side door.

A grand jury previously indicted her for first-degree murder which could have meant a life sentence. The agreement would allow a chance for eventual release.
