WVU lands quarterback transfer from Miami

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. — Former Miami (Fla.) quarterback Jack Allison announced via Twitter that he is headed for WVU.
Allison was a top recruit for the class of 2016.  He chose Miami over offers from Florida State, Florida, Alabama, Baylor and others.   Allison was ranked in ESPN’s top 100 prospects and was given a four-star ranking by Rivals.
Allison was on the roster for the Miami team that defeated the Mountaineers in the Russell Athletic Bowl but he was sitting out as a redshirt.   Allison decided to transfer following spring drills.  He appeared in Miami’s spring game as he completed 11 of 15 passes for 100 yards with a touchdown.
The Mountaineers are attempting to re-stock at the quarterback position as they have just two scholarship quarterbacks currently.  Cody Saunders recently announced that an injury has forced him to give up football.   The Mountaineers have Will Grier and Chris Chugunov on scholarship with junior college transfer David Isreal due later this summer.
Allison would sit out this year as a transfer and then have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
