MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Patrick Mahomes is now a millionaire in Kansas City and Jonathan Giles has transferred to LSU. Yet if you think the Texas Tech passing game lacks swagger, listen to one of the left-behinds.
“My top goal right now is to break Michael Crabtree’s record of 22 touchdowns in a season,” said junior receiver Keke Coutee. “I set my goal kind of high this year.”
Coutee went from 11 catches in 2015 to 55 last season, and his yardage jumped from 105 to 890. During the nine conference games, only Oklahoma’s Dede Westbrook had more production.
Today on the Gold & Blue Lunch Report’s list of Top 50 Big 12 Players for 2017, we reveal Nos. 45-41. Coutee is among that group, though if he finishes anywhere near Crabtree’s mark, we will have been guilty of drastic undervaluing.
