2 dead, 1 injured in Greenbrier County shooting

ALDERSON, W.Va. — Two people were killed and a third person injured in a shooting that happened Thursday afternoon in Greenbrier County, according to reports.

Multiple law enforcement agencies were on the scene.

The incident occurred at around 2:30 p.m. at a residence on Snake Run Road in the Grassy Meadows area near Alderson.

Deputies said a woman was shot and killed and the man who fired the shots turned the gun on himself and took his own life. A second man was injured at the scene and taken by helicopter to Charleston Area Medical Center.

Greenbrier deputies and state police troopers are investigating.
