McMECHEN, W.Va. — No one was injured when a CSX train collided with a cement mixer along state Route 2 in Marshall County Friday morning.
The collision happened at around 9 a.m. near the scrap yard in McMechen when the truck driver went across the tracks while the train was backing toward Benwood, authorities said.
A CSX worker on the back of the train was able to jump off before the collision. The truck driver also was not injured. The collision took place behind the truck’s cab and did not strike the gasoline tank.
An investigation is underway.
