Interstate 79 reopened after Quiet Dell crash

QUIET DELL, W.Va. — Northbound lanes of Interstate 79 are reopened following a single vehicle accident near the Quiet Dell exit late Sunday evening.

According to Harrison County Sheriff’s Deputies, the accident occurred just after 11 p.m. when a vehicle struck a barrier on I-79 north near mile marker 115. Both northbound lanes remained closed into Monday morning.

Three patients were transported to United Hospital Center. There were seven people in the vehicle.

The family was traveling back to Pennsylvania after a vacation in Florida.

Harrison County Sheriff’s Department is investigating. Stonewood and Nutter Fort Fire Departments also responded, as well as Harrison County EMS and Bridgeport EMS.
