LOST CREEK, W.Va. — A police pursuit along I-79 resulted in a single injury in Harrison County early Monday morning.
The chase began in Lewis County, but ended on I-79 in Harrison County when the vehicle rolled over. The crash occurred near the 109 mile marker in Lost Creek just after 3:30 p.m.
Charles William Masters, 43, was flown via HealthNet to Ruby Memorial Hospital. There’s no word on the extent of his injuries. According to Harrison County Chief Deputy Scott Lattea, Masters was driving on a suspended license. The vehicle was registered in Charleston.
The pursuit included officers from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, and the West Virginia State Police. Lost Creek, Nutter Fort and Stonewood Fire Departments also responded, as well as Anmoore EMS and Lewis County EMS.
Harrison County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to investigate the crash.
Charges from the initial pursuit will come from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
