Hurricane man scores hole-in-one at Greenbrier pro-am

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — A Putnam County man hit a hole-in-one Wednesday at the Greenbrier’s Old White TPC Course, the first at the redesigned facility.

Jim Fawcett of Hurricane, took part in the Greenbrier Classic Official Pro-Am. His team was at the par-3 18th hole when he approached the tee with an 8-iron in hand.

“It was raining a little bit, so I was clubbing up just to make sure I got it there,” he said on MetroNews “Hotline.”

Fawcett said he did not see the ball land in the cup, only realizing the moment when the crowd at the green began cheering at other side of the 141-yard hole.

According to Fawcett, this is his first hole-in-one. He credited the accomplishment to his wife, who was with him.

“She always brings me good luck,” he said.
