Planned Mon Power outage will affect about 7,600 customers

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — Mon Power is planning a six-hour power outage in parts of Jackson, Wirt and Wood counties Monday to perform upgrades and maintenance.

About 7,600 Mon Power customers will experience a power outage from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday in the areas of:

— Route 5: From Elizabeth to Creston

— Route 14: From Mineral Wells to the Roane County line

— Route 21: South of Mineral Wells to the Jackson County line

— Route 53: From Elizabeth to Route 47

Maintenance will include repairs and upgrades to a power substation near Parkersburg, which is to ensure more reliable electric service in the area.
