Clarksburg MVB Bank robbery suspect identified

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Police have released the identity of the man in custody, accused of robbing MVB Bank Wednesday morning.

Thomas Burgoyne Jr., 44, is facing a felony robbery charge after police say he walked into MVB Bank near the U.S. Post Office on Pike Street and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robbery was reported at 10:14 a.m. No injuries were reported in the incident.

A conviction on felony robbery carries a sentence of between 10 and 25 years in prison.

Bond has been set at $500,000 cash or surety.
