Raleigh County man sentenced for 2013 murder

RALEIGH COUNTY, W.Va. — A Raleigh County man will be eligible for parole in 15 years as part of his sentence for an October 2013 murder near Arnett.

On Friday, Mickey Roger Daniel, Jr., 33, of Edwight, was in Raleigh County Circuit Court to plead guilty to a charge of 1st degree murder.

Investigators have alleged he killed Johnny Nile Condia, 77, during a robbery attempt focused on Condia’s prescription medications.

Witnesses saw Condia fall out of a vehicle soon after he was shot in the back. Before he died, investigators said he identified Daniel as his killer.

Daniel was sentenced to life in prison with mercy during Friday’s plea hearing.
