Bullet leaves hole in vehicle at State Capitol

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia State Capitol Police began an investigation Wednesday into a car that was struck by a bullet on the State Capitol property.

According to the West Virginia Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety, Capitol Police responded to the sound of suspected gunfire near the State Capitol Complex parking garage around 10:45 a.m. They came upon the vehicle, which was parked on the Piedmont Road side of the garage on the ground level.

No one was in the vehicle at the time.

The Capitol Police have contacted the Charleston Police Department.
