Hamric to serve as next MSAC leader

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The Mountain State Athletic Conference announced Jim Hamric will serve as the organization’s next commissioner.

The announcement was made after unanimous approval Wednesday.

Hamric succeeds Fred Aldridge, who served as commissioner until his death on July 14. Hamric has been secretary-treasurer since 2004, and will continue those duties until a permanent replacement can be found.

Hamric led Spencer High School to two consecutive Class AA state football championship games, winning the 1991 game. Hamric also served as athletic director at Parkersburg High School from 1999 to 2005. He has been serving that position recently as the institution searches for a full-time athletic director.
