Fayette couple charged with child neglect

THURMOND, W.Va. — A Fayette County couple is facing child neglect charges after deputies found them high on drugs at a home in the Thurmond area.

Ricky Crouse, Jr., 29, and his girlfriend Cammie Carr, 28, were arrested Friday morning.

According to a news release, deputies found six young children living inside the home in “filthy and unsanitary conditions.”

Crouse told police he called 911 from inside his car after he heard his children screaming inside the home. When deputies arrived, they found Crouse “extremely impaired” while locked inside the vehicle parked outside the residence.

Carr was located sleeping on a couch inside the home. Deputies determined she was also high on drugs.

The children were all under the age of 12. Child Protective Services has the children removed from the home.
